Improving Children’s Environmental Education Practice (ICEEP) project introduction ceremony held in Dawei

Spectrum SDKN organized “Improving Children’s Environmental Education Practice (ICEEP)” introduction ceremony at Nawareth Hall, BEHS (2) in Dawei, with the support of Australian Aid through Childfund Myanmar on 21st January 2020.

Present in the ceremony were representatives from Basic Education Department of Tanintharyi Region, Environment Conservation Department and ward heads, representatives from partner organizations, local media and over 100 teachers from Ye Byu and Thayetchaung townships. U Win Naung, Deputy Director of Basic Education Department of the region stressed the critical role of the project in his opening speech, stating “Environmental conservation awareness is of importance. Though we cannot guarantee that all the children will be qualified for matriculation exam, awareness and practice they would have learnt from it will be beneficial to their respective communities.” Naw May Khin Thet, program coordinator, presented the project and Salai Thawng Hlaing Lung, project officer, explained project activities and how they will be implemented. That was followed by interactive discussion, question and answer session.
